On the back of winning two games in Milwaukee to take the series, the Pittsburgh Pirates won the first of four games against the Miami Marlins, for their third win in a row.
Mitch Keller showed up with a strong performance, going seven solid innings, striking out five, while only allowing one earned run and not walking a batter.
Then, a personal favorite, Yerry De Los Santos stepped up to the occasion and shut things down with a four out save, striking out four of the six batters he faced.
There’s a good chance the Pirates will use a similar lineup, as they’ll be facing another left handed starter. The Pirates have six right handed hitters, and all six started against Trevor Rogers.
If the Pirates are set to use a bunch of their recently activated veterans, leading up to the All-Star Break and Trade Deadline, then this was a good start. Especially on the heels of Bryan Reynolds going on the IL.
