Pirates Discussion: This is Getting Fun

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Chicago Cubs by a 12-1 score yesterday, with Oneil Cruz and Bligh Madris making their debuts and making an impact on the score.

The Pirates will look to carry that momentum into tonight’s game, with Roansy Contreras on the mound.

Contreras taking the mound, backed by a very young group of prospects, makes this a fun team to watch. The Pirates are currently 12 games under .500, so this isn’t a contender. It is a team that currently has more upside than a normal 27-39 team, and that newly added upside will probably lead to more wins the rest of the year.

Tonight’s game is at 7:05 PM EST. We will post lineups when they are available. Use the comments below to discuss the big league club.
