Daily Video Rundown
Tsung-Che Cheng
One of the more hyped prospects in the lower levels, one of the unanimous names that comes up about a potential breakout season is Tsung-Che Cheng. While he doesn’t have the traditional size you would think from a shortstop, Cheng has all the tools to play the position, and has experience playing around the infield as well.
It’s his hit tool that has the majority of the people excited to see him in 2022. Last year in the Florida Complex League, Cheng hit to a tune of .311/.449/.492 with four home runs and 16 stolen bases. He showed an incredible advanced approach for his age, walking nearly 20% of the time (19.1) while striking out 8.9%.
Pirates prospect Tsung-Che Cheng showing off probably one of my favorite swings in the system. Judging off the way Cheng reacted once he made contact it was a homer, but not 100% sure pic.twitter.com/vumIiZyP5G

Here’s a look at the swing that is able to generate so much power, compared to his size. He will be one of the players to watch in the lower levels this season.
Bryan Reynolds
Thursday morning started off interesting on the internet, as word coming that the San Diego Padres were in talks with the Pirates about a potential Bryan Reynolds trade.
After things calmed down, Reynolds went about his business and showed why he was one of the best players in all of baseball.

So far this Spring, Reynolds has shown he is more than ready to get the season started. The center fielder has collected seven hits in 24 at-bats (.292), with five of those being for extra base hits (2 2B, 3B, 2 HR). He has also scored four runs, and driven in five on his own.
Diego Castillo
Another day, another highlight reel for Diego Castillo who is really stating his case to make the Opening Day roster.

The home run on Thursday was his fourth of the Spring, which is tied for the second most in all of baseball at the moment.
Jase Bowen
Another player in the lower levels with breakout potential, Jase Bowen was the Pirates 11th round pick in the 2019 draft. He spent the entire 2021 season with Bradenton, batting .220 with 14 home runs and 16 stolen bases.
Another week is almost in the books and that means another @Jase_bowen32 video! Pay attention to the first ab and how the ball looks to be destined for his hands. That ball literally cleared the road at PC Be sure to read the on Bowen from @pirateprospects https://t.co/izwOpkAVkY pic.twitter.com/aAuKITkKt9

Bowen has been hitting the ball hard in Spring Training early on, producing some impressive exit velocity numbers.
