PITTSBURGH – Pirates Head Athletic Trainer Todd Tomczyk met with the media today for the latest injury updates, highlighted by notes on Tyler Glasnow and Jung Ho Kang.
**Tyler Glasnow is in Indianapolis for a side session Wednesday and the Pirates anticipate that he will make his next rehab start in Triple-A. His regular turn would be due to come on Saturday. Sean McCool covered Glasnow’s last rehab start, and had a report after the game.
**Jung Ho Kang’s left shoulder injury was a subluxation (partial dislocation) and he has already resumed baseball activity. He can take grounders and throw. The next, bigger step, will be for him to pick up a bat and resume swinging. The Pirates don’t have a time frame for that to take place as of yet.
**Chris Stewart continues to catch nine innings every other day with Altoona. His knee has been responding “well,” according to Tomczyk. He also relayed that the biggest issue now for Stewart has been regaining conditioning after an extended period of inactivity.
**Tomczyk said all good things about the rehab of right-handed pitcher Nick Kingham. He did leave the door open to Kingham pitching in a fall league or instructs.
