The minor league season is done for all but three of the Pittsburgh Pirates affiliates. Indianapolis and West Virginia will each start their playoffs on Wednesday, while Jamestown still has two regular season games left and a chance to win the NYPL Wildcard spot. AAA: Indianapolis (80-64) @ Durham (87-57) 7:05pm 9/4

Indianapolis will begin their playoffs on Wednesday in Durham. It is a best of five series, with the first two games played in Durham. During the regular season, the two teams met eight times, with Durham winning five times. They have not played each other since mid-June. Indianapolis had the best record in the league on June 25th, going 53-27 in their first 80 games. In their last 64 games, they were 27-37 and they finished with the third best record in the league.
AA: Altoona (63-79)

The Altoona Curve season is over. They finished in last place in their division, 14 games out of first place. Justin Howard led the team with a .314 BA. Jarek Cunningham led with 19 homers and Alex Dickerson was the leader with 68 RBI’s. Adalberto Santos topped the team with 21 steals and 62 runs scored. On the pitching side, Casey Sadler led with 11 wins. Nick Kingham had the best ERA at 2.70 in 73.1 innings. David Bromberg led with 136 innings pitched and 127 strikeouts. Luis Sanz was first with 16 saves.
High-A: Bradenton (57-77 overall, 31-35 2nd half)

The Bradenton Marauders season is over. They finished seven games back for the second half title and 21.5 games back in the overall standings. Alen Hanson led the team with a .281 batting average among regulars. Willy Garcia led the team with 16 homers and 60 RBI’s. Benji Gonzalez led with 27 steals. Hanson and Gregory Polanco each had 24 stolen bases. Nick Kingham and Zack Dodson led with six wins among pitchers. Adrian Sampson led with 85 strikeouts and 140 innings pitched.
Low-A: West Virginia (81-58 overall, 44-25 2nd half) vs Hagerstown (80-57) 7:05pm 9/4

West Virginia will begin their playoffs on Wednesday at home against Hagerstown. They will play a best-of-three series, with the last two games played in Hagerstown. During the regular season, the two teams met 13 times, with Hagerstown winning eight times. The last time the two teams met was during the first week of July and Hagerstown swept a three game series.

Cody Dickson will get his 14th start of the season tonight. He has pitched a total of 52 innings, allowing 41 hits, three homers and 23 walks. He has 54 strikeouts, an 0.90 GO/AO ratio and a .222 BAA. In his last start, he went five shutout innings, giving up four hits and two walks, while picking up five strikeouts.
