Game Notes: Indianapolis lost a tough extra innings ballgame, allowing four runs in the 13th innings. Brandon Cumpton pitched well as the starter, giving up two runs over seven innings, leaving with a tied score at two apiece. He threw 88 pitches on the night, 55 went for strikes. He also hit two batters. Duke Welker threw two scoreless innings. Brooks Brown took the loss, allowed four runs in the 13th innings. He came in during the 11th inning and got Indianapolis out of a bases loaded, one out jam. Felix Pie drew three walks. Jared Goedert hit his 16th double of the year. Tony Sanchez was hitless in six AB’s. Chase d’Arnaud also failed to get a hit, though he did walk once. John McDonald went 1-for-5 in his fifth rehab game. He is now hitting .200 in 20 AB’s. Indianapolis is now 40-20 on the season
AA: ALTOONA CURVE
Game One
Result: Reading 6, Altoona 5

Game Notes: This was a completion of a game from May 23rd, that was suspended in the eighth inning. Reading scored four runs in the eighth off Kenn Kasparek. Altoona attempted a comeback, falling a run short in the ninth. Casey Sadler was the original starter for the game and the original lineup included Chase d’Arnaud at shortstop. Andrew Lambo started the game in left field, but moved to first base when play resumed. Mel Rojas Jr’s tough day finally ended. He went 0-for-5, striking out three times.

Game Notes: Jameson Taillon gave up two first inning runs, then held Reading off the board for the next four innings, before a rough sixth inning knocked him out. That sixth inning including three singles, two of which didn’t leave the infield, an error by Gift Ngoepe and a two-run home run. Taillon threw 89 pitches on the night, 53 went for strikes. Luis Sanz followed Taillon with two perfect innings, while Nate Baker threw a scoreless ninth. Altoona came back to win the game, with three runs in the bottom of the ninth. Andrew Lambo ended the game with a two-run walk-off home run, his 14th of the year. He now has 42 RBI’s on the season.

Game Notes: Nick Kingham pitched well, but had no run support as Bradenton got shutout tonight at home. Kingham threw 90 pitches on the night, going a season-long 7.2 innings. The only run scored on a sixth inning sacrifice fly. Kingham hit three batters in the game. Bradenton had six hits, three walks and three stolen bases. Jose Osuna was the only player with two hits and his double was the only extra base hit. Matt Benedict picked up the last four outs for Bradenton. Earlier in the day, Gregory Polanco, Alen Hanson and Nick Kingham were named to the Florida State League All-Star game.

Game Notes: John Kuchno regained his spot in the rotation after moving to the bullpen in favor of Jake Burnette. In the two previous starts by Burnette, Kuchno came in as a long reliever and still threw a total of 10.1 innings. He ended up picking up his third win of the season, thanks to a two-run homer from Josh Bell and two RBI’s from Junior Sosa. Kawika Emsley-Pai reached base all four plate appearances. Stetson Allie stole his sixth base of the season. Kyle Haynes picked up his fifth save. Dilson Herrera missed his second straight game after being hit by a pitch late in Saturday’s game, but he is still on the active roster. Earlier in the day, six West Virginia players were named to the SAL All-Star team.
