AA: ALTOONA CURVE

Box Score

Result: Binghamton 8, Altoona 5

Starting Pitcher: Casey Sadler, RHP (3.09) – 6.0 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 HR

Top Hitter: Adalberto Santos, 3B (.248) – 1-for-3, 2 BB, SB, 2 RBI

Other Notable Performers:

Andrew Lambo, LF (.290) – 2-for-5, SB

Game Notes: Casey Sadler carried a 3-2 lead into the sixth inning, but gave up two runs to give Binghamton their first lead. Altoona tied it up in the top of the seventh, but Luis Sanz came on in the bottom of the seventh and gave up four runs. Adalberto Santos has eight walks in his last five games. He has a .248 average on the season, but has a .379 OBP. Alex Dickerson returned to the lineup after missing over a week with a concussion. Dickerson went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts.

A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS

Box Score

Result: Fort Myers 5, Bradenton 0

Starting Pitcher: Zack Dodson, LHP (1-2, 3.45) – 5.0 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 0 HR

Top Hitter: Alen Hanson, SS (.294) – 2-for-4

Other Notable Performers:

Dan Gamache, 2B (.276) – 2-for-3

Game Notes: Zack Dodson has a 3.45 ERA in 28.2 innings over his first five starts, with an 18:8 K/BB ratio. The overall results have been strong, and some of the smaller positives are encouraging. Dodson has dealt with control problems in the past, so the low walk rate is a good sign. He also has a good GO/AO ratio, which is a result of bringing back his two-seam fastball and the effectiveness of his changeup. Alen Hanson continued his hot hitting, extending his hitting streak to eight games. He has five multi-hit games in that span.

A: WEST VIRGINIA POWER

Box Score

Result: Greensboro 12, West Virginia 3

Starting Pitcher: Tyler Glasnow, RHP (3-1, 2.95) – 3.2 IP, 2 H, 7 R, 4 ER, 7 BB, 2 K, 2 HR

Top Hitter: Stetson Allie, 1B (.344) – 2-for-4, BB

Other Notable Performers:

Jonathan Schwind, RF (.259) – 2-for-3

Game Notes: Tyler Glasnow dealt with control problems and the long ball tonight. He gave up two-run homers in the second and fourth innings. He also walked a season high seven batters, after limiting his control issues to two walks a game in five of his last six starts. He also had four wild pitches, and hit a batter. Walker Gourley left the game after crashing into the wall going for a foul ball. He walked off with help and was replaced by Jonathan Schwind. Stetson Allie lost his 11 game hitting streak yesterday, but bounced back today with a two hit game.
