Today is the day for all players to report to minor league camp. The team will be doing testing, weigh-ins, and physicals throughout the morning. The weather isn’t that good, so I’m not sure how much they’ll do as far as early workouts go. I was hoping to see some base running drills yesterday, but the early workout was just an instruction with no actual drills.
The following pitchers will be throwing live batting practice today: Colton Cain, Zac Fuesser, Jameson Taillon, and Mike Loree.
The following pitchers are scheduled to throw bullpen sessions today: Stetson Allie, Nathan Baker, Ryan Beckman, Matt Benedict, Victor Black, Eliecer Cardenas, Kyle Cofield, Brandon Cumpton, Jose Diaz, Zack Dodson, Michael Dubee, Luis Heredia, Quinton Miller, Aaron Pribanic, Casey Sadler, and Brian Tallet.
Jose Diaz and Michael Dubee will be traveling to major league camp today to serve as backups in the big league game.
I’m guessing that Cofield, Miller, and Tallet won’t be throwing bullpens today since they threw live BP yesterday. I’m also guessing that Dubee and Diaz will be saved for the major league game. So it could be a short day from a pitching perspective. I’ll definitely get some video of Taillon throwing live BP.
Later on today I’ll be heading over to major league camp to get some pictures of the major league game. Kristy is over there right now, and will have coverage throughout the game.
