The Pittsburgh Pirates are expected to make several moves today, a lot of which will involve the Indianapolis Indians. Before the moves begin, I am excited to announce a move for this site, also related to the Indianapolis Indians.
I am pleased to announce that Nancy Zinni, who ran the excellent site Sandlot Swashbucklers, has joined Pirates Prospects today. While running Sandlot Swashbucklers, Nancy did an outstanding job profiling prospects, keeping track of the farm system, and providing great reports on her hometown team, the Indianapolis Indians.
Nancy will be an invaluable member of the Pirates Prospects team, and will continue to provide live reports from the Indians home games, as well as her excellent insight on the rest of the farm system. Please join me in welcoming Nancy to the site!
Tim started Pirates Prospects in 2009 from his home in Virginia, which was 40 minutes from where Pedro Alvarez made his pro debut in Lynchburg. That year, the Lynchburg Hillcats won the Carolina League championship, and Pirates Prospects was born from Tim's reporting along the way. The site has grown over the years to include many more writers, and Tim has gone on to become a credentialed MLB reporter, producing Pirates Prospects each year, and will publish his 11th Prospect Guide this offseason. He has also served as the Pittsburgh Pirates correspondent for Baseball America since 2019. Behind the scenes, Tim is an avid music lover, and most of the money he gets paid to run this site goes to vinyl records.
Welcome Nancy! Another great addition to a great site.
