Back at the end of June I reported that 2011 4th round pick Colten Brewer had agreed to terms with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Earlier today the Pirates made the deal official. I had thought the delay might be due to an over-slot bonus. However, Brewer signed for $240,000, according to Baseball America, which is right around slot for a fourth round pick, and about half of what 2010 4th round pick Nick Kingham received.
The draft pick signing tracker has been updated.
