INDIANAPOLIS INDIANS (AAA)

Presley hit two separate three run homers tonight.

Top Hitter: Alex Presley (3-for-5, 2 HR, 6 RBI)

Notes: Indianapolis got a huge effort from the offense tonight, led by a big game from Alex Presley (.344).  Presley went 3-for-5, hitting two separate three run homers, giving him eight homers on the year.  Matt Hague (.296) went 1-for-3 with a homer and two walks.  Gorkys Hernandez (.271) went 3-for-5 with two doubles.  Chase d’Arnaud (.271) returned to the lineup, going 1-for-4 with two walks and two runs.

Justin Wilson (6-3, 3.19) bounced back from a poor start last time out, pitching six innings, and allowing two runs, both unearned, on five hits, with three walks and three strikeouts.  Chris Leroux (4.15) pitched a shutout inning with two strikeouts.  Scott McCauley reports that Leroux has a new delivery, which has led to eight strikeouts in 8.2 shutout innings over his last five games.  Leroux was hitting 96 MPH several times tonight.

ALTOONA CURVE (AA)

Curry hit his first homer at the AA level.

Notes: Jeff Locke (4-5, 4.99) has had some rough outings lately, but was successful tonight, allowing one run on three hits in 5.1 innings.  Locke was wild, with five walks, but did strikeout eight batters.  Diego Moreno (1.93) pitched 1.2 shutout innings, allowing a hit, no walks, and striking out four.  Michael Dubee (2.76) pitched two shutout innings, allowing three hits, one walk, and striking out one.

Matt Curry (.400) went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer, his first at the AA level.  Jordy Mercer (.253) went 2-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs.  Quincy Latimore (.234) went 2-for-4 with a double and a homer.  Brock Holt (.297) went 3-for-5 with a triple.  Every member of the Altoona lineup recorded at least one hit.

BRADENTON MARAUDERS (A+)

Baker allowed a run in six innings.

Notes: Donald Veal (4.26) pitched the first two innings of the game, allowing a run on three hits, with no walks and three strikeouts.  Zach Foster (0.00) pitched a shutout inning, allowing one walk.  Nathan Baker (3-3, 4.23) pitched six innings, allowing a run on four hits, with a walk and five strikeouts.

Robbie Grossman (.269) went 2-for-4 with a double.  Elevys Gonzalez (.323) and Aaron Baker (.275) also each went 2-for-4.  Calvin Anderson (.211) went 1-for-2 with two walks and a double.

WEST VIRGINIA POWER (A)

Waldron allowed one run in six innings.

Notes: Tyler Waldron (3.92) pitched six innings, allowing a run on five hits, with no walks and four strikeouts.  The one run came on a solo homer.  Porfirio Lopez (0-1, 4.00) allowed two runs on two hits in two innings.

Drew Maggi (.213) went 1-for-3 with a homer.  Justin Howard (.268) and Kevin Mort (.234) each went 2-for-3.

Notes: Luis Sucre (.225) and Eduardo Rangel (.262) each went 2-for-4.  Jose Roman (.390) went 2-for-5 with an RBI.  Dilson Herrera (.339) went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run.  Heading in to today’s game, Herrera had recorded at least one hit in each of his first 13 games.  He has still reached base safely in all 14 games.
