His home run today was his 11th of the season, and eighth since the start of June. Last year in Bradenton he had 13 homers in 488 at-bats. His 11 this year have come in 287 at-bats. He also has 24 doubles after two today, which is close to his 31 doubles from last year. He started slow in April, and had decent numbers in May, but he has been hot since the start of June. A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS

Box Score

Result: Tampa 4, Bradenton 3

Starting Pitcher: Joely Rodriguez, LHP (2.86) – 6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 0 HR

Top Hitter: Dan Gamache, 2B (.276) – 3-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI

Other Notable Performers:

Alen Hanson, SS (.278) – 2-for-5, 2B

Stetson Allie, 1B (.253) – 1-for-3, 2B, BB

Game Notes: Joely Rodriguez has a 2.86 ERA in 28.1 innings this year with Bradenton, along with a 12:9 K/BB ratio. His ERA is similar to his time in West Virginia this year, although he’s walking slightly more and striking out a lot less. A lot of that is because he’s pitching to contact and getting quick outs, leading to a higher GO/AO rate in Bradenton (2.42) than West Virginia (2.15). Tonight he had a 12:0 GO/AO ratio. Stetson Allie hit his eighth double with Bradenton, and now has a .300/.417/.550 line in 40 at-bats this month. Alen Hanson went 2-for-5, snapping a 1-for-19 streak in his previous six games.

The sinkerball pitcher also has a 2.0 GO/AO ratio. What Harold Ramirez has been doing this month has been amazing. He has played 14 games, and has multiple hits in nine of those games.
