TOP OF THE SYSTEM
A look at how the current top 20 prospects did today. Note that this list doesn’t include players currently in the majors. If a player is in the majors, he will be removed, everyone below him will be shifted up a spot, and a new player will be added to the bottom of the list. Rankings are from the mid-season rankings, and links on each name go to their Pirates Prospects player page.

DAILY SUMMARY
Top Hitter: Josh Harrison, SS (.317) – 2-for-5, 2 2B
Home Runs: None
AAA: INDIANAPOLIS INDIANS
Result: Toledo 9, Indianapolis 7
Starting Pitcher: Stolmy Pimentel, RHP (3.48) – 6.0 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 HR
Top Hitter: Josh Harrison, SS (.317) – 2-for-5, 2 2B
Other Notable Performers:
Alex Presley, CF (.286) – 2-for-4
Tony Sanchez, C (.294) – 1-for-4, 2B, BB, 2 RBI
Andrew Lambo, RF (.298) – 2-for-4
Ivan De Jesus, 2B (.332) – 2-for-4, 3B, 2 RBI
Game Notes: Stolmy Pimentel has had three starts where he has given up one or fewer runs in 6+ innings. In his other two starts he has combined for ten earned runs in 11 innings. That inconsistent performance was a problem for him in Altoona, and will likely hold him back from being a top of the rotation guy. One good sign is that he’s cutting down on the walks, with 10 in 31 innings. Josh Harrison hit two doubles, giving him 28 on the year. Tony Sanchez hit his 24th double of the year. Andrew Lambo has cooled a bit, going 8-for-30 with a double and a homer in his last ten games.
AA: ALTOONA CURVE
Result: Erie 3, Altoona 1
Starting Pitcher: Jameson Taillon, RHP (3-6, 2.94) – 7.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 1 HR
Top Hitter: Charlie Cutler, DH (.302) – 2-for-4, 2B
Other Notable Performers:
Jarek Cunningham, 2B (.232) – 2-for-4
Game Notes: Jameson Taillon wasn’t as dominant in the three starts heading into this game. He didn’t have bad numbers, with six earned runs in 16.1 innings. However, he had an 8:6 K/BB ratio in that span. Tonight was not only a good start, but he did much better with six strikeouts and no walks. On the season he has a 2.94 ERA in 95 innings, with a 91:33 K/BB ratio.
A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS
Result: Charlotte 9, Bradenton 6
Starting Pitcher: Emmanuel De Leon, RHP (2-1, 3.69) – 1.0 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 0 HR
Top Hitter: Dan Gamache, 2B (.278) – 3-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI
Other Notable Performers:
Robby Rowland, RHP (4.61) – 6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, 1 HR
Alen Hanson, SS (.291) – 2-for-5, 2B
Jacob Stallings, C (.232) – 2-for-3, 2B, BB
Game Notes: Emmanuel De Leon got the start tonight for some reason, but lasted only one inning. He gave up five runs, all unearned due to a three error inning. Two of those errors led to the five runs. Alen Hanson returned from the disabled list and went 2-for-5 with a double in his first game back. Dan Gamache hit his 23rd double of the year.
A: WEST VIRGINIA POWER
West Virginia was postponed due to rain.
A-: JAMESTOWN JAMMERS
Result: Jamestown 10, Batavia 3
Starting Pitcher: Jackson Lodge, LHP (2-0, 4.05) – 6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 0 HR
Top Hitter: JaCoby Jones, SS (.450) – 2-for-5, 3B

Adam Frazier, 2B (.438) – 3-for-4
Harold Ramirez, LF (.290) – 2-for-4
Danny Collins, DH (.310) – 2-for-5, 2B
Jeff Roy, CF (.258) – 3-for-4
Game Notes: Jamestown has scored 39 runs in their last three games. Everyone in the lineup had hits tonight, and six players had multiple hits. Adam Frazier and JaCoby Jones are both off to great starts in their careers. Frazier is 7-for-16 while Jones is 9-for-20 with two doubles and a triple. Jones played his previous three games in center field, but got the start at shortstop tonight. He is listed as a shortstop on the Jamestown roster, despite being drafted as a center fielder. Harold Ramirez currently has a six game hitting streak, and a 1.325 OPS in 24 at-bats in the month of July.
