A look at how the current top 20 prospects did today. Note that this list doesn’t include players currently in the majors. If a player is in the majors, he will be removed, everyone below him will be shifted up a spot, and a new player will be added to the bottom of the list. Rankings are from the pre-season rankings, and links to each prospect writeup can be found by clicking the player names below. Players who weren’t in the original top 20 are linked to their player page on the site.

AAA: INDIANAPOLIS INDIANS
Result: Indianapolis 12, Columbus 7
Starting Pitcher: Andy Oliver, LHP (2.93) – 4.1 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 8 K, 0 HR
Top Hitter: Tony Sanchez, C (.238) – 3-for-3, 2B, BB

Tim Alderson, RHP (1-0, 2.45) – 3.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 0 HR
Game Notes: Andy Oliver was cruising until the fourth inning. He had good control and was throwing in the mid-90s, but the control escaped him in the 4th and he combined for five runs in his final 1.1 innings. Tim Alderson stranded two runners in his debut at Triple-A this season. Alderson later gave up a run in his fourth inning of work. Tony Sanchez wasn’t the scheduled starter, but came in after Brian Jeroloman was ejected. Sanchez went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk. Brett Carroll hit his third homer of the year, and Jared Goedert hit his first. Click here to read John Fredland’s live game report.
AA: ALTOONA CURVE
Result: Harrisburg 4, Altoona 2
Starting Pitcher: Tyler Waldron, RHP (0-2, 4.50) – 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 0 HR
Top Hitter: Andy Vasquez, CF (.167) – 2-for-5, HR
Other Notable Performers:
Charles Cutler, C (.333) – 3-for-4, SB
Game Notes: Tyler Waldron had a better start this time around. Last time he gave up four runs in six innings. He cut that down with two runs in six innings this time through. Charlie Cutler had a three hit day, with a stolen base. Andy Vasquez hit his first homer of the year.
A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS
Result: St. Lucie 8, Bradenton 2
Starting Pitcher: Eliecer Navarro, LHP (0-3, 4.38) – 3.1 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 0 HR
Top Hitter: Jose Osuna, 1B (.211) – 2-for-4, HR
Other Notable Performers:
Dan Gamache, DH (.324) – 3-for-4, 2B
Eric Avila, 3B (.100) – 2-for-4, 2B
Game Notes: Jose Osuna hit his first homer of the year, which was a good sign. Osuna hadn’t been making strong contact that much early in the season. His single was also struck hard. Dan Gamache has looked poor defensively this year, but he’s been hitting well and hitting to both gaps. Eric Avila did well offensively, but didn’t look good on the field. He didn’t have any errors, but had a few plays that probably should have been made. Alen Hanson had three errors on the day, all on routine plays. A: WEST VIRGINIA POWER
Result: West Virginia 12, Asheville 7
Starting Pitcher: Joely Rodriguez, LHP (6.00) – 6.0 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 1 HR
Top Hitter: Raul Fortunato, CF (.366) – 3-for-5, HR, 4 RBI
Other Notable Performers
Stetson Allie, 1B (.396) – 3-for-3, 2B, BB, SB
Dilson Herrera, 2B (.333) – 1-for-2, 2B, 2 BB, SB
Game Notes: Raul Fortunato homered for the second game in a row, and extended his hitting streak to nine games. I mentioned yesterday how Fortunato had a 36 game hitting streak two years ago in the DSL. He looked like a promising international prospect last year, but didn’t get a chance to break out. He’s a potential five tool guy with some power potential. It’s good to see him hitting so far in full season ball, but also good to see a bit of power. Stetson Allie also extended his hitting streak to nine games. Allie went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk, raising his early season average to .396 and his OPS to 1.236.
