Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitching prospect Jameson Taillon has been promoted to Altoona, per an Altoona Curve press release. The top prospect will make his debut at the level on Tuesday, on the road in Trenton.
Taillon had a 3.82 ERA in 125 innings with Bradenton this year over 23 starts. The right hander posted a 98:37 K/BB ratio in that time, along with a .230 BAA.
He’s struggled at times this year, including a rough stretch in May and June. Taillon had a 4.94 ERA in 27.1 innings in May, and a 5.86 ERA in 27.2 innings in June. Since then he has rebounded. He has a 2.98 ERA in 57.1 innings over his last ten starts, and in his last four starts he has given up three runs in 22 innings, with a 14:6 K/BB ratio.
