Game Notes: Justin Wilson struggled with his control again, walking four. He threw 108 pitches in five innings, with the majority coming in the first three innings. This was the first time Wilson has walked more than three in a start since June 5th, spanning six starts. That’s pretty significant for Wilson. Bryan Morris came on in relief and had a good outing, throwing two shutout innings. On the season, Morris has a 2.50 ERA in 51.1 innings, with a 53:12 K/BB ratio. Tony Sanchez continued his hot streak. He has a six game hitting streak, and is 9-for-26 with two doubles and three homers in that stretch. Starling Marte extended his hitting streak to 12 games.

Game Notes: Kyle McPherson now has a 4.37 ERA in 22.2 innings in Altoona this year, with a 16:4 K/BB ratio. He’s given up one walk in each of his four starts this year. Prior to tonight’s start, he had nine strikeouts in 17 innings. This was a much better outing statistically than his previous two, where he combined for eight earned runs in 12 innings, with a 4:2 K/BB ratio.

In those two starts he has combined for one earned run in 11 innings, with an 8:2 K/BB ratio.

He’s gotten some extreme ground ball numbers this year with his sinker, and tonight was no different, with a 10:3 GO/AO ratio. Jose Osuna hit his seventh homer of the year. Alen Hanson and Gregory Polanco continued their hot hitting with two hits each. Polanco stole his 27th base of the year.

Game Notes: Stetson Allie hit his first career home run. Allie now has a .204/.328/.347 line in 49 at-bats. In his last start, Tyler Glasnow gave up six runs, two earned, in one inning. He left due to a single inning pitch count. This time around he had a much better result. This was his best start since his season debut, when he gave up one run on two hits in 3.2 innings, with no walks and four strikeouts.
