Game Notes: Quincy Latimore had a big day, combining to go 4-for-6 with two doubles and a homer in the double header. Brock Holt combined to go 3-for-7 on the day. Phil Irwin recorded a season high six strikeouts, but gave up five runs, four earned, on no walks and seven hits. Four of the hits were for extra bases, with one of those being a homer. Brandon Cumpton struck out five, tying his season high, and gave up three runs in six innings, despite five hits and one walk.

Game Notes: Gerrit Cole had another good start, and now has a 2.60 ERA in 45 innings over nine starts, with a 46:13 K/BB ratio. In his last five starts he has given up four runs in 28 innings, with a 23:6 K/BB ratio. He’s given up just 16 hits in those 28 innings, and has allowed 32 hits in 45 innings on the season. The Bradenton offense only had four hits, all singles. They drew six walks. Five of their runs came in the fifth, which saw three of their walks and three of the hits.
