Tim Alderson, RHP (0.00) – 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 0 HR
Game Notes: Poreda was once a top prospect, and was one of the keys to the Jake Peavy trade between San Diego and the White Sox. He fell from top prospect status due to poor control. While his overall results were good tonight, the five walks in five innings weren’t encouraging if you’re looking for a turnaround. Altoona scored all six of their runs in the fourth inning, led by a three run homer by Elevys Gonzalez.
A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS

Game Notes: Strickland gave up his two runs on three hits in the first inning. He settled down after that, with two hits over four shutout innings. This was his first game since June 5, 2010, which also came for Bradenton. Drew Maggi is now 5-for-8 with two stolen bases in his last two games. Alex Dickerson went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts and a walk. He’s 2-for-20 with two walks and five strikeouts on the young season.
A: WEST VIRGINIA POWER
Result: Asheville 6, West Virginia 5
Starting Pitcher: Nick Kingham, RHP (27.00) – 1.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, 1 HR

Josh Poytress, LHP (0.00) – 3.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 0 HR
Game Notes: For his second straight start, Nick Kingham was removed in the second inning. Last time out Kingham gave up five runs in four innings, with all of the damage coming in the second. This time all of the runs came in the second once again. West Virginia battled back, adding a run in the third, fourth, and sixth to tie the game. Alen Hanson was a big reason for that, with another big night at the plate. The shortstop had his fourth multi-hit game of the year, and stole his third base. Josh Bell had a nice night, with his second multi-hit game of the year, and his second extra base hit.
