He hasn’t allowed a run in his last five outings, spanning 5.2 innings.

Anthony Claggett and Tim Alderson combined to allow nine earned runs in the top of the ninth inning. Five went to Claggett, and four went to Alderson, along with two inherited runners that were credited to Claggett. Alderson has an 8.35 ERA in 18.1 innings over his last ten outings, with a 12:8 K/BB ratio.

Game Notes: Grossman homered in the third, his 11th of the year. The homer extended his on-base streak to 42 games. He drew a walk in the bottom of the 8th, which was his 100th of the season. That makes him the first minor leaguer to walk 100 times and score 100 times since Nick Swisher in 2004. Baker’s start tonight was just the second of the year where he didn’t allow an earned run.
