The Pittsburgh Pirates sent INF Pat Dorrian to the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday afternoon to complete the trade for right-handed pitcher Yefry Ramirez made late last month.
Dorrian was signed as a non-drafted free agent last year and batted .335/.432/.539 in 49 games, split between the GCL Pirates and Bristol. He wasn’t draft-eligible due to signing out of high school with the Atlanta Braves, before deciding to go to college instead. Dorrian, who turned 23 years old today, has been playing for Greensboro this season, where he hit .256/.346/.443 in 64 games, spending most of his time at third base.
