A look at how the current top 30 prospects did today. If a player is in the majors for an extended time or loses his prospect eligibility (Kevin Newman, Nick Burdi and Pablo Reyes), he will be removed from this list. Everyone below him will be shifted up a spot, and a new player will be added to the bottom of the list. If a player is out for the season (Travis MacGregor), he will be removed and everyone below him will move up a spot. Removing these guys doesn’t mean they have lost prospect status. It is just an attempt to get more active prospects on the list. Rankings are from our updated 2019 Prospect Guide, and links on each name go to their Pirates Prospects player pages.

Indianapolis lost 3-2 to Louisville. Eduardo Vera battled through some poor defense in the first inning to put together a solid outing on Friday night. A misplay and an error led to three runs scoring in the first against Vera, two of those being earned because no error was charged on the misplay by Polanco in right field (he came in on a line drive that went over his head). Over the final four innings tonight, Vera faced just two batters over the minimum. He finished with two earned runs over five innings, on six hits and no walks, with four strikeouts and a 9:2 GO/AO ratio. He threw 53 of 78 pitches for strikes.
Geoff Hartlieb followed Vera and tossed two shutout innings. He has not allowed a run this season in eight innings, despite issuing eight walks. Dovydas Neverauskas walked one and struck out three over the final two innings. He has thrown six shutout innings this season.
Cole Tucker brought in the first run for the Indians with his third home run of the season, a solo shot in the fourth inning. That was the only extra-base hit for Indianapolis. Ke’Bryan Hayes scored the only other run on an error in the fifth inning. With the pitcher hitting ninth, the lineup tonight included five top ten prospects, plus Gregory Polanco, Elias Diaz and Lonnie Chisenhall. Polanco and Diaz both went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts. Chisenhall went 0-for-3 and played seven innings in left field.

Bradenton won 7-1 over Jupiter. Domingo Robles had a strong start tonight, going six innings with one unearned run allowed. He gave up seven hits and a walk, struck out five batters and posted a 10:2 GO/AO ratio. He threw 62 of his 98 pitches for strikes. Robles now has a 3.13 ERA in 23 innings. Ike Schlabach followed him, coming off of seven shutout innings over his last two outings combined. He went just one inning in this game, but he threw a scoreless frame. Blake Cederlind came out for the eighth and tossed two scoreless innings despite allowing a hit and walking three batters.
The offense was led by Robbie Glendinning, who was just demoted from Altoona despite a .300 average and an .848 OPS in Double-A. He hit a solo homer in the sixth, then a bases loaded triple one inning later. Glendinning also walked and scored two runs. Chris Sharpe had a double, two singles, a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Travis Swaggerty hit two singles, walked and scored a run. Calvin Mitchell and Michael Gretler each drove in a run.
