P2Daily: Yesterday is Over and Tomorrow Will Come Again

We’re just going to all forget that yesterday happened, right?

I mean, I feel like when your defense can hold the opposing team to three touchdowns, you’ve got a chance to win most games. However, when the offense can’t even manage a field goal, there’s a problem.

Wait, wrong sport.

These types of massive losses happen to teams every year. Later this season, the Pirates will beat the bloody hell out of a team they shouldn’t have, and it will elate anyone who tuned in that night with low expectations.

For now, the last few games have been a bit of a microcosm of what to expect from this team.

A few surprising, very close, well managed wins where the Pirates utilize their players in new, strategic fashions.

Or, really embarrassing losses.

I feel like we could get deeper into this season with a Pirates team that remains continuously flirting with a .500 record, only to have a Pythagoeran win total that is well below their actual win total. That would be due to a team that can win close games, but is capable of being blown away.

Hopefully today gets back to more of the former.

Or, maybe provides that surprise blowout victory for the Pirates.
