AFL Recap: Peoria Picks Up Their First Loss of the Season

Peoria came into Saturday night with a 3-0 record. They played Mesa on the road for the second straight night and picked up their first loss of the season, dropping a 4-1 decision. Two Pirates saw action in this game.

Jared Oliva had started all four games, two in center fielder and now two in left field, where he played tonight. Batting fourth in the lineup, he went 1-for-3 with a walk, his second double and his third RBI. Oliva is now 5-for-14 with two walks.

Oneil Cruz was the DH tonight and dropped down to seventh in the batting order. He batted just three times, striking out twice and grounding out to second base in the other at-bat. Cruz is now 1-for-12 at the plate.
