Jose Osuna had a big year in his move to the United States in 2011. After just one season in the VSL, Osuna hit for a .331/.400/.511 line in 178 at-bats at the GCL level. He was named the fifth best prospect in the GCL last year by Baseball America. The Pirates have been working him at first base a lot in the off-season, and with his raw power he could be a nice sleeper prospect in the system. I’ve been watching him take batting practice the last few days, and got a bit of it on camera today.
