WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Camacho was already 20 when the Pirates signed him out of Venezuela. He has good size for a righty.
2018 Camacho pitched mainly in short relief in his debut. Opponents batted only .200 against him and he had a good K rate, but he also had control issues. 2019 The Pirates sent Camacho initially to Bristol, but after the college draftees reported he moved down to the GCL. He pitched in short relief, sometimes as closer, and wasn’t especially effective. He continued to have control issues and didn’t miss many bats. (NOTE: One of Camacho’s GCL appearances was credited by MiLB.com to outfielder Carlos Canache. Neither MiLB nor Baseball Reference has corrected the error, but it’s been corrected here.) Camacho will likely be at Bristol or back in the GCL in 2020. |
