WTM’S PIRATE PLAYER PROFILES |
Miller had a commitment to Alabama, which he agreed to during his junior year, but then switched to East Mississippi CC. He’s a big framed shortstop, following a trend of previous picks in this draft where the Pirates have been taking bigger guys for the position. Miller hit for a .403/.482/.831 line in 141 plate appearances this year, with 13 home runs and just 15 strikeouts. Miller has played other positions, originally playing second base before moving to shortstop as a sophomore. He can also play third base. He can already hit for some power, and could add more as his frame fills out. He could be a tough guy to sign. |
