WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Romero is a small, speedy infielder who signed at age 16 out of Venezuela. Bonuses for Venezuelan players generally aren’t known for security reasons, but he did sign on the first day of the signing period.
2019 Romero played all over the field in his debut season, although he saw the most time at second. He hit for average and showed good patience, as well as using his speed on the bases. 2020 2021 Romero was the primary second baseman for one of the Pirates’ FCL affiliates. He also saw a little time at short. He didn’t hit for any power, but got on base at a great rate thanks to a large number of walks. 2022 Romero missed the season due to a PED suspension. With the suspension over, Romero will be at Bradenton. |
