WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
The Pirates signed Brahms as an undrafted free agent after the 2020 draft. He was one of a great many players available for a maximum $20,000 bonus due to the draft being limited to five rounds. Brahms was a starter for four years at Sacramento State, putting up good numbers except for a bit of an off-season in his junior year. He made four starts as a senior before the college season was shut down, posting a 1.14 ERA with no walks and 32 strikeouts in 23.2 IP. He also had K rates in double figures in his sophomore and junior seasons. His command is good and he’s had low walk totals. Based on the most recent available information, which is a little old, Brahms throws a low-90s fastball, an improving change and a breaking ball. |
