WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE

Morrow was a four-year starter at Wright State.  He played some outfield early in his career there, then moved to second.  He’s also played some at short.  His best year was his junior year, when he hit 333/427/487.  As a senior in 2018 he batted 274/413/365.  He had 38 steals in 50 tries over the four years.  The Pirates signed him as a non-drafted free agent.  He’ll probably serve in a utility role in the lower levels of the system.

2018
R:  286/381/327, 98 AB, 4 2B, 15 BB, 11 K, 5-6 SB

Morrow was the team’s most frequently used second baseman and played a few games at short.  He made good contract and didn’t strike out much, but also didn’t show any power.  Of course, he was old for the level.

2019
R+:  295/358/356, 146 AB, 9 2B, 13 BB, 18 K, 5-6 SB
A+:  000/000/000, 1 AB

Except for filling in very briefly at Bradenton, Morrow spent the season at Bristol, mostly splitting his time between first and third.  He continued hitting like he had the previous season, making contact and getting on base without showing any power.

Morrow should be somewhere at the lower levels in 2019.
