| Morris was regarded as a good prospect in high school, but he went to Maryland and didn’t hit at all there. In four years, he batted 190/297/293. His best year was his junior year, when he hit 211/290/389. He had trouble making contact, striking out in over a quarter of his at-bats. He does have a good defensive reputation, including a strong arm. The Pirates signed him as a non-drafted free agent in late July 2018.
