WTM’S PIRATE PLAYER PROFILES

Benscko was mainly a backup for three years in college before having a strong 2010 season as a senior. He’s very fast and a good defensive player, but has no power.

2010: Started season playing mainly rightfield for State College, although he also saw a little time in center. Didn’t hit much, but showed a willingness to take a walk and also showed his speed. Only got into nineteen games, as he injured his hand swinging the bat and missed rest of season.

Benscko will probably be an organizational player.  He started 2011 in extended spring training.  I don’t know whether he was healthy.
