WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Rosario signed with the Pirates just after he turned 16. He got a bonus of $125,000, which by Pirates standards is a moderate amount for a pitcher. He sits at 90 mph from a 3/4 arm angle, which gives him good arm-side run.
2017 Pitching mostly in relief, Rosario had a very rough debut. His biggest problem was an inability to throw strikes. 2018 Rosario went back to the DSL and pitched strictly in relief. He improved dramatically, with great walk and K rates, and just a .552 OPS. He held left-handed batters to just a .501 OPS. 2019 Rosario pitched in relief in the GCL and struggled, walking more than he struck out. Rosario will be somewhere in short season ball in 2020. |
