WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Vizcaino was slightly on the old side when he signed. He was born in the Bronx, but resides in the Dominican. He’s played a little in center so far but mostly in left. He seldom strikes out and draws plenty of walks, but he hasn’t shown more than gap power.
2015 Vizcaino was the primary left fielder in the DSL and made very good contact without much power. 2016 Playing only semi-regularly, Vizcaino showed some improvement at the plate, mainly in increased gap power. 2017 Vizcaino broke his leg during spring training, but a little surprisingly was able to report to the GCL in July. He played all three outfield positions and showed very good plate discipline, although he didn’t hit a great deal. 2018 Vizcaino spent the season as an outfield backup at Bristol, playing mostly center and left. His hitting was pretty much what it had been the previous year. Vizcaino will be 22 when the 2019 season starts. If he returns, he could be back at Bristol. |
