WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Angulo signed just before the 2018 DSL season started, at age 19.
2018 Angulo played sparingly in June, then more in July and August. He hit decently, with very good plate discipline and very little power. He threw out 42% of base stealers and also started three games at first. 2019 Angulo split the catching duties in the GCL with Dylan Shockley. He had eight passed balls, which isn’t a good total for 24 starts, and threw out 22% of base stealers. He didn’t do much at the plate, beside making consistent contact. The Pirates have a lot of lower level catchers, none of whom really looks like a prospect. Angulo will probably be assigned in 2020 based on how the Pirates see his defense. |
