SCOUTING REPORT
The Pirates signed Rosero in 2004 at the age of 17 out of Panama.  Rosero spent two seasons in the Venezuelan Summer League, combining for a .299/.378/.401 line in 374 at-bats.  He made his debut in the United States in 2007, with a .292/.375/.434 line in the GCL in 113 at-bats.  Rosero played for State College in 2008, and saw a drop off in his numbers.  He was limited to just 27 at-bats in 2009 due to injuries, although he did make the jump from State College to high-A.  He will likely return to high-A to start the 2010 season.  Rosero has shown the ability to be a weapon on the bases, which combined with the ability to hit for average and get on base make him an interesting sleeper prospect to watch.
