WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Lambert was a college senior who will likely fill out one of the middle infield bench spots for the Pirates’ short-season teams. He hit for a .249/.341/.398 line in 181 at-bats in 2018 with Pepperdine, and that was the best offensive season of his career.
2018 Lambert was the most frequent second baseman for Bristol, getting three starts at short. He committed only two errors in 29 games at second. At the plate he did very well, with extremely good walk and K rates. 2019 Lambert started the season at Greensboro, but the Pirates moved him up to Bradenton at the beginning of May. He got off to a great start before the promotion but didn’t do much at the plate afterward apart from drawing walks. He played mostly second, with just a few games at short, and did very well defensively at the former. Lambert will likely continue in a utility role. |
