WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Dandeneau pitched strictly in relief during his four years at Connecticut. In his senior year he had a 2.52 ERA and racked up 68 strikeouts in just 50 innings. That was twice as many innings as he’d thrown in any prior year, but he was always around a strikeout an inning. His walk totals have usually been a little on the high side. He throws 89-91 mph and adds a slider. Dandeneau signed two weeks after the draft.
2019 The Pirates sent Dandeneau initially to the GCL, then moved him to Bristol after two games. He pitched in one- to three-inning stints and got good results, with a very good BB:K ratio. He had a huge platoon split, giving up a .719 OPS to left-handed hitters and .405 to right-handed hitters. Dandeneau should see time at Greensboro at some point in 2020. |
