GAME STORY

Indianapolis beat Columbus 8-0.  Dana Eveland (8.84) pitched 3.1 shutout innings, allowing three hits, one walk, and striking out one.  Brian Bass (W, 3-4, 3.53) pitched 3.2 shutout innings, allowing a hit and striking out one.  Steven Jackson (3.86) pitched a shutout inning, walking one.  Jean Machi (4.20) pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.

Alex Presley (.298) went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.  Brandon Moss (.261) went 1-for-4 with a homer (21) and three RBIs.  Doug Bernier (.239) went 2-for-5 with a double, a run, a stolen base, and three RBIs.  Brian Friday (.261) went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, and an RBI.  Jason Jaramillo (.258) went 2-for-4 with a run.

ALTOONA CURVE (AA)

GAME STORY

Altoona beat Richmond 3-2 in 10 innings.  Jeff Locke (2.73) pitched six innings, allowing one run on five hits, with a walk and five strikeouts.  Michael Dubee (2.13) pitched three innings, allowing a run on four hits, with no walks and five strikeouts.  Daniel Moskos (W, 3-1, 1.41) pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout.

Chase d’Arnaud (.243) went 2-for-4 with a walk.  Josh Harrison (.298) went 2-for-5 with an RBI.  Jordy Mercer (.275) went 2-for-5 with a double.  Jim Negrych (.263) went 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.

BRADENTON MARAUDERS (A+)

Bradenton swept a double header against Charlotte.  Bradenton won game one 6-0, after having the game suspended after the first inning last night.  Nathan Adcock (3.38) pitched a shutout inning last night, allowing one walk and striking out one.  The game resumed today, with Brian Leach (W, 8-9, 3.85) pitching six shutout innings, allowing two hits, two walks, and striking out one.  Matt McSwain (3.26) pitched a shutout inning, allowing one hit.  Tyler Cox (3.47) pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.

Eric Fryer (.312) went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Quincy Latimore (.264) went 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Robbie Grossman (.246) went 2-for-4 with a run.  Starling Marte (.333) went 1-for-4 with three runs and an RBI.

Bradenton won game two 10-1.  Nathan Baker (2.40) pitched 4.2 shutout innings, allowing three hits, one walk, and striking out two.  Craig Hansen (W, 1-2, 3.86) pitched 1.1 shutout innings, allowing no hits, one walk, and striking out two.  Duke Welker (4.05) pitched one inning, allowing a run on two hits.

Marte went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.  Latimore went 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.  Fryer went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Shelby Ford (.224) went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.  Grossman went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

WEST VIRGINIA POWER (A)

Miller

West Virginia lost to Augusta 7-4.  Quinton Miller (L, 3-5, 5.53) pitched 6.2 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits, with three walks and no strikeouts.  Zach Foster (4.42) pitched 1.1 innings, allowing a run on three hits, with no walks and two strikeouts.

David Rubinstein (.286) went 2-for-4 with a stolen base (21) and an RBI.  Ramon Cabrera (.264) went 2-for-4 with a run.  Elevys Gonzalez (.276) went 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, a run, and an RBI.

STATE COLLEGE SPIKES (A, Short Season)

GAME STORY

State College lost to Batavia 10-6.  Tyler Waldron (L, 4-6, 3.77) pitched 3.2 innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits, with two walks and two strikeouts.  Trent Stevenson (4.15) pitched 2.1 innings, allowing one run on three hits, with no walks or strikeouts.  Jhonatan Ramos (1.62) pitched two shutout innings, allowing a walk and a hit, and striking out one.  Jason Townsend (2.95) pitched an inning, allowing two runs on three hits, with a walk and two strikeouts.

Matt Curry (.295) went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo homer (6).  Chase Lyles (.238) went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Pat Irvine (.250) went 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

GCL Pirates (RK, Short Season)

The GCL Pirates wrapped up their 2010 season, winning 4-1 against the GCL Blue Jays.  Emmanuel De Leon (3.86) pitched two shutout innings, allowing a walk and a hit, and striking out two.  Nick Kingham (0.00) pitched a perfect inning.  Ryan Hafner (9.00) pitched a shutout inning, allowing one hit.  Fraylin Campos (W, 2-1, 4.01) pitched two innings, allowing a run on three hits, with a walk and four strikeouts.  Jarryd Sullivan (4.11) pitched two shutout innings, allowing two hits, no walks and striking out one.  Barrett Phillips (2.63) pitched a perfect inning.

Jared Lakind (.214) went 1-for-2 with a homer (1) and two RBIs.  Kevin Mort (.284) went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs.  Jorge Bishop (.260) went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base (12).
