SCOUTING REPORT
|
Kime has a commitment to Louisville, and probably one of my favorite names of the Pirates’ 2010 draft. He has a 91-92 MPH fastball, but not much in the way of secondary stuff. Kime throws a curve and a changeup, although both have trouble finding the strike zone. His curve has a lot of break, making it hard to keep in the strike zone, but getting a lot of chasing swings. That won’t work for him in the upper levels. Baseball America rated Kime the #14 prospect in Ohio. He’s considered to be a tough sign by Baseball America, due to his down year this past season. Kime comes from the same high school that produced Chad Billingsley and Jonathon Niese. |
