WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Bejerano hit .311 in 19 games at Seminole State in 2016, then transferred to Broward College, where he hit 283/366/414 with three homers in 37 games in 2017. Those offensive numbers were about average for the league. Perfect Game had him rated as the 500th best high school player in 2015 and noted that he occasionally pitched, hitting 87 MPH. Presumably, that means he has a good arm behind the plate. He threw out 11 of 35 runners attempting to steal in 2017. PG also considered him athletic behind the plate, with good bat quickness.
2017 Bejerano split the catching duties in the GCL with Gabriel Brito. He did reasonably well defensively and threw out 33% of base stealers. At the plate he struggled, with a high K rate. 2018 Bejerano spent most of the season as the backup catcher at Bristol, but moved to Morgantown for a few games in late August. He obviously didn’t hit at all. Overall, he threw out six of 26 base stealers. If Bejerano is still around in 2019, he’ll back up at the lower levels. |
