Pirates Discussion: Trip to Miami, After Victorious Weekend

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates head to Miami, after managing to take two of three in Milwaukee for the series win. That is something we haven’t been able to witness very frequently.

The Miami Marlins have a roughly league average offense, with a .698 OPS. Their pitching staff is ranked 13th in the majors — 8th in the NL — with a 3.80 Team ERA.

Barring any changes, the Marlins are scheduled to start three left-handers. As has been discussed before, the Pirates have a very left heavy roster, so it should be interesting to see how this series plays out.

Unfortunately, the left handed pitchers aside, the one right-handed starter that’s schedule to pitch for the Marlins is Pablo Lopez, who gets game three on Wednesday.
