Daily Video Rundown

Blake Sabol

The Altoona Curve used the long ball to explode for 12 runs against the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Tuesday. The charge was led by Blake Sabol, who hit his third and fourth home runs of the season.

Sabol continues to hit, posting a .866 OPS in 25 games played this season. His play earned him the majority share of the playing time while Carter Bins was in Altoona, and now has filled in great while Henry Davis has been out with an injury.

Cody Bolton

Bolton followed up Osvaldo Bido in Tuesday’s game, pitching four innings of one-hit baseball, walking two and striking out six batters, picking up his first win of the season.

In 21 innings, Bolton has struck out 26 batters, while walking 12. He’s made eight appearances, four of which have been starts.

Nick Gonzales

The 2020 first round pick has struggled this season, striking out nearly 40% of the time and hasn’t hit for power nearly as often as he did for Greensboro last year.

Tuesday he was every bit a part of the team’s offensive explosion, totaling three extra base hits, including his third home run, of the season.

After spending the majority of the season batting below the Mendoza line, Gonzales’ average now sits at .231, the highest mark he’s held since April 20th.

Andres Alvarez

On a roster with Gonzales, Liover Peguero, Jared Triolo, and Matt Fraizer (now Henry Davis as well), it is Andres Alvarez that leads the Curve in home runs. He reclaimed his lead after hitting his fifth of the season.
