This week on Pirates Prospects, I challenged everyone to step outside of the top 30 prospects.
We’ve seen a week and a half of full-system action, so the task was for each writer to pick a prospect outside of the top 30 to follow this season. This pairs with yesterday’s group article, where we gave our reactions to five different players over the last week.
I’ve highlighted this a few times, but I’ll say it again: It’s incredible how many talented prospects there are to follow in this system. We’ve run two weeks of group reaction articles with no duplicate picks. Later today we’ve got our first Player of the Week article of the season, and that was a five-way tie until Cody Potanko delivered the final vote and the first duplicate.
A lot of players are performing in this system right now, and it’s not just the guys inside the top 30.
