Some minor league roster and injury updates…
**Kyle McPherson is currently on the Triple-A disabled list with shoulder inflammation. There is still no time table on his return, although he is currently on a throwing program.
**Stetson Allie experienced some tightness in his elbow during his last start, due to cold weather. He is throwing again and should be back on the mound soon.
**Zack Von Rosenberg has been removed from the West Virginia roster, and will remain in extended Spring Training. Von Rosenberg wasn’t feeling great at the end of Spring Training, and remained in extended to work some things out. In his final Spring Training outing he threw 72 pitches over five innings, but gave up seven hits, four of which were home runs.
**Mike Loree has been released by the Pirates.
UPDATE 4:55 PM: Michael Crotta had surgery today to remove a bone spur and put a screw in, per his Twitter account. He also tweeted X-ray photos here, here, and here.
Tim started Pirates Prospects in 2009 from his home in Virginia, which was 40 minutes from where Pedro Alvarez made his pro debut in Lynchburg. That year, the Lynchburg Hillcats won the Carolina League championship, and Pirates Prospects was born from Tim's reporting along the way. The site has grown over the years to include many more writers, and Tim has gone on to become a credentialed MLB reporter, producing Pirates Prospects each year, and will publish his 11th Prospect Guide this offseason. He has also served as the Pittsburgh Pirates correspondent for Baseball America since 2019. Behind the scenes, Tim is an avid music lover, and most of the money he gets paid to run this site goes to vinyl records.

Thanks for doing the work that the PG should be doing…
