For an in depth review of yesterday’s games please check out our minor league wrap-up which can be found here. Indianapolis was postponed yesterday due to flight issues. They will now play a day-night doubleheader on Saturday to make up the game. Bradenton is currently on their All-Star break. They don’t play again until Monday when the FSL team records will reset to 0-0 for the 2nd half. State College starts their schedule tonight on the road in Williamsport.
Nick Kingham will get the opening day start for State College tonight. The 4th round pick from 2010 pitched two games for the GCL team last year after signing in August to a $480k bonus. The 19 year old 6′ 5″ RHP threw 3 scoreless innings over his two appearances giving up 3 hits and striking out two. He was ranked 21st overall in our 2011 Prospect Guide which can be found here if you have not already purchased it as of yet. He is the 3rd highest ranked prospect from the State College opening day roster behind pitcher Stetson Allie and outfielder Exicardo Cayonez.
